One of the newest companies in the direct sales industry, Origami Owl, is all set for its national launch later this month. Introducing a new line of custom charm jewelry, Origami Owl takes story telling to a whole new level.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

PRLog (Press Release) - Jan 23, 2012 - Origami Owl is one of the newest companies to have joined the direct sales industry. Founded in 2010 by 14-year old, Isabella Weems, to raise money for a car in time for her 16th birthday, Origami Owl turned out to be much more than the 14-year old bargained for. What started out as a small time venture soon became an immense success.  Now, Origami Owl was pleased to announce a new business opportunity for budding entrepreneurs who want to get into direct sales.

Origami Owl specializes in custom charm jewelry that allows its wearer to tell her story through small charms that can be placed inside lockets and made into necklaces. The company offers hundreds of unique charms, each featuring a different theme: from letter initials, birthstones, and charms that represent families to love, faith, travel, hobbies, special occasions, and causes, Origami Owl offers a wide-selection of charms to consumers. How it works is customers have to choose charms that they want to add to their necklace, choose a locket to house these charms, and finally, choose a chain setting to hold the necklace in place. Additional accents include custom metal plates and dangles. “No locket is the same” said company founder Isabella Weems in an interview. “Every locket tells a different story” added Isabella.

Now that Origami Owl has established its product base, they are pleased to announce their official launch as a direct sales company, which is scheduled later this month. Even at the beginning, company founder Isabella Weems sold her merchandise through home parties and trade shows. Origami Owl actually started accepting independent designers since 2011. The company hosted a limited launch in November 2011, which catered to a limited number of designers. While the company is getting ready for its national launch, interested designers may start signing up and purchase starter kits. Those who sign up now will be prioritized once the company officially launches nationally.

Currently, Origami Owl offers four starter kit options to those who want to sign up as independent designers. Origami Owl business kits are priced at $199 for basic kits, $399 for 10-person party packages, $799 for 20-person party packages, and $2599 for the business blast off package. Kit contents include business tools, inventory supplies, and free limited use of Origami’s independent designer ecommerce website. The company utilizes a party-plan system for distribution mixed with e-commerce solutions to keep up with marketing trends of the 21st century.

Independent designers can expect to earn 50% personal retail sales commission on charms and 30% commissions on other jewelry products offered by the company. Since Origami Owl also employs a multi-level marketing framework, existing designers can recruit new designers and build a team. Those who build a team can earn commissions on their downline’s commissionable sales and as well as be eligible for leadership promotions and group bonuses.

Since Origami Owl is still in its pre-launch stages, its home party-plan system hasn’t been officially launched yet. In the meantime, interested party hostesses can watch out for news or attend events officially hosted by the company and its first batch of origami owl designers before they can host their own parties. The party-plan system and its hostess rewards program are expected to launch at the same time as the company’s national launch.

The concept behind Origami Owl “is like the build-a-bear concept, and people just add the things that are important” said company stall manager, Heidi Nunnally, in an interview. Since the company specializes in custom charms, consumers are given the opportunity to build a necklace from scratch and add special details that mean something to them or to recipients. “Origami Owl’s charm necklaces make for perfect presents since they can be customized in such a way that would reflect the recipient’s personality” said one consumer who recently purchased a necklace for a friend from Origami Owl.

While Origami Owl’s product base has been designed to cater primarily to women, the company has also seen its fair share of male customers. Men who are looking for gifts for their girlfriends, wives, or female friends and relatives have bought pieces from the company as well.

Origami Owl is open to independent designers aged 14 years old and above, provided that minors secure consent from their parents or legal guardians. Since the company’s products are priced at around $4 per charm up to $25, it is expected to do well with their target demographic, primarily young girls and women.

Direct sales representatives who are interested in the origami owl business opportunity may do so by visiting the company’s website at www.origamiowl.com where they can secure the designer sign up form and choose a starter kit. Those who are interested in exploring the company’s products can also check out the website for a full view of their jewelry selection.
