World's Smallest Frog

JAKARTA, TRIBUNNWES.COM - Scientists, managed to find the smallest frog species in the world, in the wilds of southwestern forests of Papua New Guinea.

According to scientists who published in the journal today, Thursday (01/12/2012), as quoted by CNN, invertebrates that have an average length, 7.7 millimeters, and the body no bigger than a coin-sized metal.

Frogs are named Paedophryne amauensis, spent most of his life behind the plant leaves wet, tropical forest. Usually the frog will come out of hiding at dawn and dusk.

These animals, according to researchers, has been through the stages of evolution are complex, and menyerderhanakan framework of their bodies.

Previously believed to be the smallest vertebrate is fish Paedocypris progenetica, which has a length of 7.9 millimeters.
