Pakistan-Taliban Fighting Forces, 25 Killed

Parachinar - Fighting between Pakistan's army again Taliban militants in Pakistan territory which borders Afghanistan. 25 people were killed in this incident.

According to the Pakistan military official Jamil Khan, about 40 Taliban militants opened fire on post Pakistan's defense forces in Kurram region today.

25 known deaths of seven soldiers were killed and 18 Taliban militants. The militants reportedly killed the victim after launching a counterattack against government forces. So reported the Associated Press on Friday (02/03/2012).

Kurram is known as a region filled with Taliban militants. This area is a Taliban base areas, and its position close to the Afghan Taliban makes it easier to launch attacks into Afghanistan, addressed to NATO forces.

For over the past week, fighting between government forces and militant groups continue to occur. Battle of the two caused dozens of deaths.

Last incident occurred on February 1 last, when they reportedly fighting killed 60 people. Ten of them is the Pakistan army, while other victims are from the Taliban.

The shootout occurred after Pakistani troops captured the summit region of Mount Jogi. The region is known as the home of Taliban militants loyal to Pakistani Taliban commander Hakimullah Mesud.
